Tentative schedule
Official date of CAT 2016 exam notification: June 2016

Starting date of CAT 2016 Registration: August 2016

Admit card issued Date: October 2016

CAT 2016 exam date: November 2016

Date of Result announcement: December 2016

Application fee
For general and NC/OBC category candidates registration fee is Rs.1600/ and for the SC/ST/Person with Disability application fee is Rs.800/.

The candidates must send their registration fee through the online only through the official portal of the association.

Exam pattern
Duration of the examination has been increased to 180 minutes instead of 170 minutes.

There will be three sections ,‘Quantitative Aptitude (QA)’, ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)’ and Verbal and Reading Comprehens ion (VRC)’.

QA and VRC will have 34 questions each, and DILR will have 32 questions. Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice type.

Instead, direct answers are to be typed on the screen.

The scoring scheme for multiple-choice questions is as follows:

Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks.

An incorrect answer fetches -1.

No marks are given or deducted for un-attempted questions.
