Re: Establishment of UGC Net

The University Grants Commission of India (UGC India) is a statutory body set up by the Indian Union government in accordance to the UGC Act 1956[1] under Ministry of Human Resource Development, and is charged with coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of higher education.

Establishment:

In November 1956 the UGC became a statutory body upon the passing of the "University Grants Commission Act, 1956" by the Indian Parliament

UGC NET qualification procedure

UGC NET qualification is divided into the following steps:

Obtain minimum qualifying marks with aggregate 55% marks to General and 50% to others in master's degree.
The paper will be divided in two papers - Paper 1 & 2. The students would have to attempt total 150 questions in 3 Hours.

Those who score more than the cutoff marks in the exam would be declared qualified for JRF.
On the other hand, Top 6% candidates will be selected for each subject and category eligibility for Assistant Professor only if they haven't applied for JRF.

UGC NET result

The conducting body of UGC NET, i.e. CBSE, declared the result for the November Exam on the official website. In comparison to previous years, the result came a bit earlier.
