Employees' State Insurance is a self-financing social security and health cover scheme for Indian workers. The ESI Act was enacted in India in 1948, but come in to realism from 25.02.1952 started at Kanpur and Delhi.

Following Benefits
ESI is a worker in insurable employment is called insure person (IP). Insured persons and their family are entitles to different types of benefits.
The benefits are broadly classified into two:
(1) Medical benefit and
Full Medical Care
Expanded Medical Care
Immunization
Family Welfare Services
Supply of Special Aids
b) Sickness Benefits
Qualifying Conditions
i) Extended Sickness Benefit (ESB)
(I) Infectious Diseases
Tuberculosis
Leprosy
Chronic Empyema
AIDS

Cash benefit.
Maternity Benefits (MB)
Disablement Benefits
Temporary Disablement Benefit (TDB)
Permanent Disablement Benefit (PDB)
