The Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Surgery at AIIMS is among the best in India and has developed expertise in most of the current subspecialities in the Otorhinolaryngology.

It provides a Cochlear Implant service and also runs speciality clinics in Head-Neck Cancer, Otology and Audiology, Vertigo, Rhinlogy, Skull Base Surgery and Voice disorders.

It also includes a special Rehabilitation Unit of Audiology and Speech Therapy which provides complete diagnostic and rehabilitative services in Paediatric hearing loss, hearing aid fitting and testing, cochlear implant programming, speech therapy and post laryngectomy rehabilitation.


Inpatient Services

Currently ENT ward is equipped with 37 beds, which include 4 beds in post-operative cubical with facility of monitoring and ventilation.
It also has 1 isolation room, examination room and a dressing room.
All patients are either admitted through OPD or emergency services.

As per AIIMS policy, the number of patients admitted in these beds is strictly equal to number of beds. Some patients are also admitted in EHS beds, emergency beds and private ward beds as per their eligibility and availability of these beds.


Out Patient Services

Regular out patients services are provided in all working days. It also includes nasal endoscopy, naspaharyngoscopy, laryngoscopy and examination under microscopy for ear. Routine ENT minor procedures are also being conducted in the OPD.

Total number of new registration: 100 (70 on the spot + 30 previously dated)
The appointments for the consultants can be taken from ENT office (Rom No. 4057) in office hours.
