The Energy Institute interactions among colleges and schools across campus, while serving as a portal for interested in learning more about energy research carried out at The University of Texas at Austin.

The Institute having the expertise faculty to study critical energy policy questions, and is dedicated to deliver their educational experience to students .

Education Curriculum includes:
Aid creation of energy courses
Promote Graduate Portfolio Program in Energy Studies (GPPES)
Support UT Energy Symposium
Support student Longhorn Energy Club
Develop faculty energy research database and portal through
Conduct energy-related conferences
Create Energy Institute speaker bureau
Produce educational videos

Research program includes:
Compile annual inventory of energy research funding on UT Austin campus
Supply seed grants for faculty research
Host monthly lunches with researchers within schools and colleges
Promote work of Energy Institute Faculty Affiliates
Produce and distribute monthly UT Energy Bulletin
Provide university-wide point of contact for energy industry
Organize multidisciplinary research teams for large federal grants (e.g., IGERT)
