Re: Eligibility for TET

Yes, as you have completed Bachelor of Education so you are definitely eligible to appear for the Teachers Eligibility Test.

It is compulsory to pass TET Exam of the respective state to get job in government schools. The rule is made mandatory by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development.

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) declared the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in class I to VIII.

Eligibility Criteria:

Persons eligible for appearing in the TET are as following:

One who has acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the NCTE Notification.

One who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI) specified in the NCTE notification.

The eligibility condition for appearing in TET is relaxed in respect of a State/UT which has been granted relaxation under sub-section (2) of section 23 of the RTE Act. The relaxation is issued by the Central Government under that sub-section.
