PhD Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have Post Graduate degree, either regular or through distance mode, from a recognised university in the concerned subject or in an allied subject approved by Osmania University

They should have secured not less than 55% marks or equivalent CGPA (50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the case of SC/ST candidates)

In addition to the above, the candidates must have qualified in NET/ SET-TS/AP/ JEST/ GATE/ GPAT/ PhD eligibility test in the concerned subject conducted by Osmania University or must have MPhil (through regular mode)/ PhD in an allied subject

PH.D Eligibility Test:

Maximum marks for eligibility test: 100

Nature of Test: Objective type with multiple choice questions

Syllabus for entrance test: P.G. syllabus of the concerned Department as approved by
the Board of Studies of the Department, O.U.

The minimum marks for qualifying the Ph.D. Eligibility Test shall be 40% in case of Open category candidates, 35% in case of BC candidates and 30% in case of SC/ST category candidates. Students belonging to Physically Challenged category are allowed a relaxation of 5% marks in each category.
