Candidates must have Master’s degree of Bharathiar University in the concerned or related discipline or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate of Bharathiar University are eligible.

UNIT I: Biostatistics Scientific writing - Writing methodology, results and discussion. Correlation & regression. Sampling distribution- students T test, χ2 test. Experimental design – CRD,RBD. Analysis of experimental results- ANOVA, Duncan’s Multiple range test.

UNIT II: Immunotechnology Fluroscent antibody assay- Histochemical localization ELISA techniques - Principles and applications. Immuno radiometric Assay - Principles and applications. Natural Products- Detection of bioactive molecules by gas chromatography. Bioassays- chemotherapeutic assays, assays using animals, enzymatic assays.

UNIT III: DNA Technology Flow cytometry- Principle, abnormal chromosome analysis, karyotying, COMET assay DNA fragmentation analysis. PCR Methodology- designs of primers- RTPCR, PCR in genomic analysis and diagnostic application. PFGE- Principles, techniques & applications.

UNIT IV: Protein Technology Mass spectrometry - Principles and application. HPLC and HPTLC - Principle, instrumentation and application. Capillary Electrophoresis- Principles, instrumentation and application. Emission spectroscopy- Fluorescence, phosphoresecence and chemiluminiscence. X-ray, NMR & their uses in protein structure prediction Flow injection Analysis- Principles, and application.

Hello buddy as you want here we provides you eligibility criteria for M.phil in
Bharathiar University as follows

Eligibility for M .Phil. Research programme (full time/part time)

\All candidates should have passed a two-year PG degree course after 3-year
Bachelor’s degree course and Higher Secondary course of 2-year duration
after 10-year SSLC (10+2+3+2) or

one year Predegree after 11-year SSLC (11+1+3+2) or 10-year SSLC plus 3-
year Diploma plus two year UG degree and two year PG (10+3+2+2) or

four year UG degree and one year masters degree (10+2+4+1).

who have passed the PG degree examination with less than 17 years of total
duration of study are not eligible for admission to M.Phil. programme.

(a) Candidates belonging to the following categories are eligible to register for
M.Phil. (Full-Time /Part Time) programme.

Candidates with 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates in the minimum
eligibility marks) of marks and above in the Master’s degree.

Candidates with 55% (5% relaxation for SC ST candidates in the minimum
eligibility marks) of marks and above in the Master’s degree and working as
Full- time Research Fellows/Technical Assistants/Research Assistants in time-
bound Research schemes of one year duration or more in University
Departments/Research Departments of Affiliated Colleges/Recognized
Research Institutions.

DURATION

FULL – TIME:


The duration of M.Phil. full time programme shall extend over a period of one
academic year (12 months) commencing from 1 st November.

PART – TIME:

The duration of M.Phil. part-time programme shall extend over a period of
two academic years commencing from 1 st November.

Procedure for Admission

The University should issue the notification through its website or advertise in
the news papers for calling applications towards M.Phil./Ph.D.

admissions. Admissions shall be made through a Common Eligibility Test
followed by an interview
