Eligibility Criteria for NITIE Mumbai

Can you tell me about the eligibility requirement for Fellow programme Admissions in National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai as I want to apply for the course in it this time?

Fellow programme in National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai is a doctoral level programme to mold individual competent enough for a career in academic, research, and business and consulting.

It is multi-disciplinary in nature and broad based spanning different facets of contemporary industrial, business and social issues. It also encourages sponsored candidates from industry and academia to pursue research.

Prospective Candidates for the Programme

a. Direct Candidates (now renamed as Regular Candidates):
All eligible candidates with sound academic background and research potential who wish to pursue the Fellow Programme as full-time research fellows in NITIE.

b. Sponsored Candidates:
All eligible candidates with sound academic background and research potential who wish to pursue the Fellow Programme simultaneously with their full-time employment in industry, academic institutions, government and other organizations should fulfill one year residential requirement of the fellow programme at NITIE campus

Eligibility for Applying to Fellow Programme

a. Regular Candidates:
Masters degree or equivalent in Engineering/ Technology, Management, Economics, Commerce, Social Science, Life sciences and Pure Sciences with 60% aggregate marks (relaxable by 5% in case of SC/ST/PD candidates) from recognized University/ Institution, CA/ ICWA and ACS.

One appearing for the final exam in the respective disciplines can also apply.

Project/ Work experience in these areas would be preferred.

As per Govt. of India rules, reservation of seats exist for SC/ST/OBC-NC (Non-Creamy) and PD candidates.

b. Sponsored Candidates:
One from Industry/ Academia with above eligibility and a minimum of 2 years experience may also apply.

Such candidates, if selected, have to stay in the campus for one year for credit requirements.

No financial assistance is available for such candidates. They need to produce sponsorship certificate from the employer.

Also they should fill-in the Sponsorship Form available on the NITIE website.

Selection:

One is required to appear in a written test conducted by NITIE.

One is selected based on written test, past academic achievements, research presentation and personal interview.

Reservation for SC/ST/PD to 3a and 3b are as per Government of India Rules.
