Re: Eligibility Criteria for MPSC Exam

Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam eligibility criteria is as given below:

Age
A candidate must have completed minimum 19 years of age (on or before1st April of the year in which candidate is going to appear for examination).

The maximum age limit for open category candidates is 33 years.

The age limit is relaxed by five years in case of candidates from reserved category.

For handicapped candidates the maximum age limit is 45 years.

Educational Qualification:
A candidate in final year of degree course can apply and appear for the Preliminary Examination.
He/she should submit the proof of his degree qualification while applying for the Main Examination, if selected in Prelims.

Exam pattern
The exam is in three stages
1. Prelims – This is objective type exam
Commerce and Economics
Science and Technology
Agriculture
Geography
Indian Polity
Village Administration – Local Administration
Modern History
Social Reformers
Mental Ability
Current Affairs – National and International

2. Main Exam – This is subjective exam totaling 1600 marks

English paper - 200 marks,
Marathi paper - 200 marks,
General Studies paper I- 200 marks,
General Studies paper II - 200 marks
Optional Studies paper I - 400 marks
Optional Studies paper II- 400 marks

3. Interview - 200 Marks
