Re: Eligibility criteria of B.Tech Student for Technical Branch in Indian Air Force I

B.Tech graduates can join IAF as Flying Officer in Flying Branch and Aeronautical Engineer in Technical Branch. CDSE, Flying (Pilot) Short Service Commission and National Cadet Corps Special Entry are three modes through which B.Tech graduates can join Flying Branch.

Procedure to join Flying Branch

Eligibility Criteria :-

1) Age:- 19 to 23 years

2) Marital Status :- Single

3) Nationality :- Indian

4) Gender :- This is applicable to both men and women.

5) Educational Qualifications :- Must be a graduate in any stream with Physics and Mathematics in 10+2.


Entry Procedure:-


There are the three modes of entry for graduates to join the Flying Branch:-

National Cadet Corps(NCC)

Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE)

Women (Short Service Commission)

You can select 1 and 2 for you.

Procedure to join Technical Branch


Direct Entry Scheme: Men and Women candidate having their age between 18 and 28 years can apply through this scheme


University Entry Scheme (UES): B Tech course last semester of study are those who can apply through this scheme. Such candidates for AFSB testing when applying during the last semester should have a minimum of 60% of the total. In addition, they must not have any outstanding during the previous semesters. Upon successful completion of B.Tech course they should receive the mandatory minimum of 60% of the total. This plan is under permanent commission only men as candidates can forward their application
