The United States Electoral College is the institution which officially elects the President and Vice President of the United States every four years. The President and Vice President are not elected directly by the voters, they are elected by "electors" who are chosen by popular vote on a state-by-state basis

The President and Vice President are not elected directly by the voters.

The number of electors in each state is equal to the number of members of Congress

Electoral votes are allocated based on the Census.
The allocations below are based on the 2010 Census.
They are effective for the 2012, 2016, and 2020 presidential elections.
