Educational Qualification To Join CBI / IB Officer

I want to join Central Bureau of Investigation as an IB Officer. Will you please provide the details of educational qualifications required for it?

Direct recruitment to CBI will be done through examinations Organized by the SSC. It is done for three following different posts:- Sub-Inspector, Assistant Public Prosecutor and Senior Public Prosecutor (SPP).

Educational Qualification:
Candidates pass graduation degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized university in following courses:
M.Sc in Criminology
Law - LLB and LLM
Diploma in Criminology and Criminal Administration
Diploma in Criminology
Diploma in Legal Science and Criminology
Criminal and Correctional Administration
Forensic Science

After you crack the written exam there are personality test or the interview session.
CBI has 4 broad categories –
Executive
Ministerial
Technical
Prosection
If you are looking at CBI Officer stream usually they are choose from IPS cadre and from the police departments.

Aspirants need to appear for UPSC civil services exams and secure IPS if you want to get into executive cadre.

UPSC notifies for few direct recruitment mainly to lower executive categories and to technical cadre.
