Educational Qualification For IAS Exam
I want to apply for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) exam so please give me information about the Educational Qualification required to apply for this exam? Give me the complete details about the eligibility criteria required to apply for IAS exam?

The Indian Administrative Service is the Civil Services Examination and one of the toughest competitive exams in India. It is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of officers for the All India Administrative Civil Service. Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has been termed as one of the prestigious services among the 24 government services like IPS, IFS (Foreign), IFS (Forest), IP & TAFS, IAAS, IRS, IDAS, CMSE, IRTS, IRAS, IRPS, ITS, CAPF-AF to name a few. All these examinations are conducted by UPSC in the form of Civil Services Examination (CSE) for selecting the appropriate candidates for the jobs. Educational Qualification: For IAS exam candidate must hold a Pass Bachelor's degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University, under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the final examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply for the Preliminary Examination. Age limits: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years Age Relaxation: General 21 to 32 years. OBC (Non-creamy Layer) 3 years relaxation (21 to 35 years) SC/ST 5 years relaxation (21 to 37years) Ex-serviceman 5 years relaxation Blind, Hearing Impaired & Orthopaedically Handicapped 10 years relaxation Important dates: IAS Civil Services Date of Notification - February 19, 2019 Online Registration Start Date - February 19, 2019 Online Registration Last Date - March 18, 2019, up to 6:00 PM The release of Admit Card (Preliminary) - 4th Week of May 2019 Date of Civil Services Preliminary Examination - June 02, 2019 Date of Civil Services Main Examination - September 20, 2019 |
