EDD Prepaid Card
The Employment Development Department (EDD) uses the EDD Debit CardSM from Bank of America to deliver benefit payments for all EDD benefit programs including Disability Insurance (DI), Paid Family Leave (PFL), and Unemployment Insurance (UI).
The EDD Debit CardSM is valid for three years from the date of issue

No more check cashing fees for those who do not have bank accounts.
Reduced security risks associated with lost or stolen checks.
Direct deposit transfer option available.
No more waiting for checks in the mail. Funds are electronically deposited to the card.
Use everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted – in stores, online, or by phone.

Expired Cards
The EDD Debit CardSM is valid for three years from the date it is issued (the expiration date is on the front of the card).
Any benefit payments for which you are eligible during that time will be issued to the card.
