I am MBA student and making a small project report of ECGC Ltd looking for the details about this Company. Will you please tell me what the working of this company and also provide me ECGC Country Risk in September so that I can put it on my project report?

ECGC Ltd, formerly known as Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd, was established in 1957 under the Ministry of Commerce to strengthen the export promotion by covering the risk of exporting on credit terms.

It is the fifth-largest credit insurer in terms of coverage of exports.

Working of ECGC:

It provides credit risks insurance to exporters against loss in export of goods and services
It offers guarantees to banks and financial institutions to enable exporters to obtain better facilities from them
It provides overseas investment insurance to Indian companies investing in joint ventures abroad.
Various political uncertainties like war, civil war, diversion of voyage, transfer delay which may lead to non-payment
Credit-related uncertainties like insolvency and default or non-acceptance of goods by overseas buyers and insolvency by L/C opening banks.

Ways ECGC helps exporters:

1) ECGC Ltd offers insurance protection to exporters against payment risks;
2) Provides guidance to export-related activities;
3) Provides information on different countries;
4) Makes easy to obtain export finance from banks;
5) Assists exporters in recovering debts;
6) Provides information on creditworthiness of overseas buyers
