The Institution Of Mechanical Engineers (India) was founded in 1914.
It located in Mumbai.

T-ENG. Level Admission Eligibility
Part I

A candidate must be Passed in 10th Standard with English, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with 6 months engineering work experience either as Trainee or Employee.


Part II
A candidate must be passed in 10+2 level examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, Maths or a pass in T. Eng, Part-I of the Institution’s examinations with 6 months work experience either as trainee or Employee.

Section A
A candidate must be passed in Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Polytechnic with 6 months work experience in Engineering field.
Section B
A candidate must be passed in Section-A examination of the institution or equivalent qualification with Engineering work experience.

The IME or Institution of Mechanical Engineers (India) was established in 1914 to promote, advance and update knowledge, business & practice of mechanical engineering professionals.

It conducts biannual examinations known as Technician Engineers Part-I & Part-II, Automobile Technician Engineers examination Part-I & Part-II, Production Technician Engineers Part-I & Part-II, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Technician Engineers Examination Part-I & Part-II and Section A & Section B of Associate Membership (also known as Chartered Engineers) Examination in Mechanical Engineering.

It thus helps youngsters working in engineering field to obtain engineering qualification and also technical knowledge & enhance their engineering career but, who have been unfortunate in securing admission in regular Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges due to no fault of their through non formal system of education.
