Re: Department Of Metallurgy Indian Institute Of Science Bangalore

The Department of Materials Engineering was established in the year 1945.

It is dedicated to the advancement of research and education in metallurgy and materials engineering.

It offers bachelor’s degree level and master’s degree level .

It also provides Ph.D. and M.Sc. (Engg.) programs.

The research interests of the Department encompass Advanced Materials including nano-and bio-materials, polymers, ceramics, Structure-property relationship in metallic and non-metallic materials in both amorphous and crystalline form and advanced composites, Extractive Metallurgy, Process Metallurgy, Physical Metallurgy and Mechanical behavior of materials.
