Department of Electronic Science Berhampur University was established in 1991 with support of UGC & DoE (Govt. of India) as one of the 11 such Departments in India to cater the requirement of Research Personnel in the field of Electronics & Telecommunication.

It runs credit based M. Sc. (Electronic Science) in regular mode & M. Tech. (Electronic Information System) in semester pattern.

It is well equipped with good laboratories, departmental library and furnished class rooms. Among the host of activities of the department of electronic science, the major ones are teaching and research. It has under taken many sponsored projects by UGC, DRDO, CSIR and DST.
