Hello sir, I want to know that the Sikkim Manipal University has reorganisation by DEC for distance education courses? Please give me info of DEC Recognition Of Sikkim Manipal University?

The Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok is incorporated under the State Legislative Act (Act IX of 1995) of the Government of Sikkim. It is recognised by UGC under section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956.

The Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok is also recognised by UGC to continue offering programmes through Open & Distance Learning (ODL) mode vide F. No. UGC/DEB-II/SMU/Recog./2015 Vol. V of the University Grants Commission dated 21/03/2016.

SMU is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and its recognition with Distance Education Council (DEC) was pending with UGC subsequent to Sikkim high court's order dated 26.06.2015.
