The Dynamic Code Evolution Virtual Machine (DCE VM) is a Modification of the java Hot Spot(TM) VM that allows Unlimited Redefinition of Loaded Classes at Runtime.


The Current hot swapping mechanism of the HotSpot(TM) VM allows only changing method bodies.

The Source Code of the Project is Available Under the GPL v2.0 License as a Patch against a recent development version of the Java HotSpot(TM) VM.

Binaries

This is a Work in Progress and Currently in an Experimental State.

At the moment, the VM is stable enough to be used when debugging Java programs.
