The Guru Nanak Dev University was established at Amritsar on November 24, 1969. The university is admitted candidates for Diploma courses in computer science.

Diploma in Computer Applications is a one year diploma course in the field of computer applications. It can be pursued both, after completing 10 + 2 and post-graduation.

It studies various computer applications like MS Office, Internet applications, Operating System, Database Management System, HTML among other subjects.

DCA is a beneficial degree as it is a 6 months to 1 year diploma course (varies from institute to institute)
