The Jawaharlal Nehru School of Management Studies, Assam University (JNSMS-AU) started functioning in July 1997. Its mission is to contribute through new academic events relating to teaching, research, consultancy and training to the process of developing capable managerial and human resources and thereby to the corporate, industrial, economic, social, intellectual and cultural development of India.

JNSMS-AU offers full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, MBA in Hospitality & Tourism and also research programme in Management leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) which is AICTE-approved.
