M.Phil. Research Entrance Test (RET) for admissions in December 2016 Eligibility

Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% in the aggregate or equivalent CGPA 5.5/10 in the qualifying examination (first post-graduate degree). –

There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks (or equivalent grade point average) for Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST)/ Physically Challenged (PC) applicants in the minimum marks (or CGPA) required in the qualifying examination.

Drawing & Painting; English; Hindi; Home Science; Music; Sanskrit; Theology; Commerce; Botany; Chemistry; Mathematics; Physics; Computer Science; Zoology; Economics; Management; Political Science; Psychology; Sociology.

There may be separate M.Phil. Research Entrance Test (RET) for each faculty or Groups of Departments.

Exam Pattern

The written test will be of 1.5 hours duration and will have the following 3 sections:

Section A – Question of

(i) General Awareness,

(ii) Logical Reasoning,

(iii) Quantitative Ability,

(iv) Computer Awareness.

(15 questions of 1 marks each)

Section B –

Questions to assess the research-related reasoning and writing skills of the candidate. (15 questions of 1 marks each)

Section C –

Subject related questions of specialized nature related to particular discipline of Faculty. (30 questions of 1.5 marks each) All the questions will be of multiple-choice in nature. (vii) There shall be no negative marking.
