CAT (Common Admission Test) is the Premier all India Management Entrance Exam Conducted by IIMs.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed Graduation Degree in any Discipline with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA from Recognized University .

Reservation of Seats for CAT 2016

Reservation of seats for SC Candidates: 15%

Reservation of seats for ST candidates: 7.5%

Reservation of seats for OBC: 27%

Reservation of seats for the person with disabilities: 3%

CAT 2016 Important Dates

Starting date of CAT 2016 Registration: August 2016

Admit card issued Date: October 2016

CAT 2016 exam date: November 2016

Date of Result announcement: December 2016

Application Fee :

For general and NC/OBC category candidates registration fee is Rs.1600/
For the SC/ST/Person with Disability application fee is Rs.800/.

Exam Pattern :

Exam paper will consist of total of 100 questions Based on the
Quantitative ability & data interpretation
Logical Reasoning
Verbal Ability

The duration of CAT Examination will be of 2 hours and 50 minutes.

The exam will be conduct through online mode only.

Each question carried 3 marks

There is also negative marking of 1 mark for the wrong answer.

No mark will be offered to questions that are not answered

Preparing Tips for CAT Exam :

Begin with the solved examples in the book
Then move onto the unsolved examples
After you are well versed with the examples in the book, test yourself further by taking as many mock tests as possible to get used to this Computer Based Exam(CBT)
Finally resort to previous years' CAT papers and monitor your progress
Practice and practice and practice more
