The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts examination every year for various posts under the Government of India.

SSC CHSL Data Entry Operator Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be

I. a citizen of India, Nepal or Bhutan.

II. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

III. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

For DEO Grade ’A’ in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): The candidate should have passed class 12th from Science stream with Mathematics from a recognised board or equivalent.

Exam pattern:

Tier -1 (Computer Based Examination: Objective Type)

Part/ Subject Maximum Marks Time Duration
(For All Parts)

Part-1 : English Language (Basic Knowledge) 50 60 Minutes

25 Questions For VH/ OH (afflicted by Cerebral Palsy and OH with deformity in writing hand (Pl. see Para 7 of notice).- 80 Minutes
Part-2: General Intelligence (25 questions) 50
Part 3: Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) 50

(25 questions)
Part 4: General Awareness (25 questions) 50

Tier 2 (Descriptive Paper)

Maximum Marks:100
Mode: Pen and Paper (Offline)
Duration: 1 hour
Topic: Essay (200-250 Words), Letter/Application (150-200 Words)
Minimum Qualifying Marks: 33%
Medium: Hindi or English

Tier- 3 (Typing Test/ Skill Test)

Skill test will be conducted on computer.
Duration: 15 minutes

Important dates:

Date of Notification 3rd December 2019
Last Date for Application Submission 10th January 2020
Last Date for the Online Payment 12th January 2020
Tier – I (Computer Based Exam ) 16th to 27th March 2020
Tier – II (Descriptive Paper) 28th June 2020
