Re: Cut Off For XIMB Rural Management

Xavier Institute of Management (XIMB) decides section-wise and total cut-off marks which is used for short-listing the candidates to be called for Writing Ability Test, and Personal Interview.

WAT & PI is held in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The final selection is made on the basis of one’s performance in the XAT/CAT/GMAT/X-GMAT and in the Writing Ability Test, and Personal Interview (which factors in the past academic record and relevant work experience).

Cut Off

Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) expected cut off for XIM Bhubaneswar is 95+ in 2015

Admission Test

Applicants are required to take any one of the Admission Tests:
a) XAT to be conducted by XLRI
b) CAT to be conducted by IIMs
c) GMAT
d) X-GMAT to be conducted by Xavier University Bhubaneswar

Eligibility:

The minimum requirement for admission to the Programme is 3 year Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with minimum 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university/deemed university.

One who expects to complete the final part of the degree exams by June 15, 2016, can also apply.

XAT Exam Pattern:

Negative Marks for each question was one fourth of the total marks.

Total Time Allocated: 140 mins + 40 mins for General Knowledge & Essay

Total No’s of Questions: 84 + 30(GK Questions) + 1 Essay

Section-Wise XAT Analysis

Quantitative Ability Section

Overall QA section had 33 questions which consisted of 8 Data Interpretation questions of two sets and 25 Quant questions.
The Data Interpretation section was easier, however was bit lengthy.
The quant section was difficult and very time consuming.
The questions were mostly from Arithmetic and geometry section.
The good attempt for this section would be 14-16 questions.
Appended below is the good score and expected cutoff.
Good Score: 9-11
Expected Sectional Cutoff: 7-8

Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning

This section has 23 questions in total. Majority of the questions on this section were on Decision making and few were on analytical reasoning.
The decision making questions were on ethical dilemmas, general management cases, employee management issues etc.
The good attempt in this section was 15 – 18.
Appended below is the good score and expected cutoff.
Good Score: 11-13
Expected Sectional Cutoff: 9-10

Verbal & Logical Ability

There were 28 questions in this section.
This section consisted of 5 Reading comprehension passages which had 17 questions. The RC section was of moderate to high difficulty level.
The other questions which were asked were on Para Jumbles; fill in the blanks, para completion, sentence completion etc.
Overall this section was of moderate difficulty level.
The good attempt in this section was 14 to 16.
Appended below is the good score and expected cutoff.
Good Score: 12-14
Expected Sectional Cutoff: 8-10

General Knowledge

This section consisted on 30 questions.
This section has mixed of General Knowledge and current affairs questions.
The difficulty level of this section was of moderate difficulty.
G K marks are not added in the XAT result and merit list.
It is used for final selection by XAT associated colleges while selecting the student for the program.
The overall time given for General Knowledge and essay section was 40 minutes.
