Joint CSIR UGC NET is an OMR paper-pen based test directed by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to decide the eligibility of indian national aspirants for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) NET and for ascertaining the appointment of lecturers (NET) Subject areas under the faculty of Science and Technology.

Eligibility Criteria : M. Sc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTech/BPharma/ MBBS with at least 55% marks for general and OBC-Non Creamy layer candidates and 50% for SC/ST, physically and Visually Handicapped candidates.


Age Limitation

For JRF (NET):- Maximum 28 years (upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants).

For LS (NET):- No upper age limit.


Examination Pattern

he single paper MCQ based test will be held tentatively on Sunday, the 18th December, 2016 as under:

Subject -

(i) Life Sciences
(ii) Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
(iii) Mathematical Sciences
(iv) Chemical Sciences
(v) Physical Sciences

Marks - 200

Duration:- 3 hrs
