CSIR UGC NET Exam Pattern Highlights


CSIR NET is conducted in offline mode. However, CSIR NET Application Form is available online only.


Questions are of objective type (MCQs), carrying a maximum of 200 marks.


There will be a total of 3 sections in each topic which includes Part A, Part B, and Part C.

Part A: General Aptitude with emphasis on Logical Reasoning, Graphical Analysis, Analytical and Numerical Ability, Quantitative Comparison, Series Formation, Puzzles etc.

Part B: Subject-related Conventional Multiple Choice questions (MCQ's)

Part C: Analytical Nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem.


Duration of exam is 3 hours (180 minutes).


Negative marking is applicable against every wrong answer.


The exam is conducted for both Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship.
