Re: Criteria to Join NDA

NDA (National Defence Academy) & ND (National Defence) examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice in a year.

Eligibility for the exam :

Nationality:
A candidate must be either be a
(i) a citizen of India, or
(ii). a subject of Bhutan, or
(iii). a subject of Nepal, or
(iv). a Tibetan refugee

Age:
16 – 19 ½ years.

Educational Qualifications:

For Army wing of National Defence Academy:
12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination .


For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy:
12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics .

Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit .

Exam Pattern:
I. Written Examination
II. Interview


Written Examination:
There will be 2 papers in NDA (National defence academy)and National Academy (NA) written exam.

The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

The question papers of Mathematics & Part B of General Ability Test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.

Time duration for each paper is 2 ½ Hours .
