The CBI is controlled by the Ministry of Personnel headed by the Union Minister who reports directly to the Prime Minister of India. To become a CBI officer, then you have to appear the exams conducted by UPSC. And this exams is held generally once a year for the post of Sub-Inspectors of Police in Central Bureau of Investigation and the application forms and other particulars are published in the Employment News in the month of October. Eligibility- Minimum qualification is graduation in any discipline Age-21 to 27 years 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidate 3 years for OBC candidate Selection Process- Written Test Interview Physical Fitness test Written Exam Syllabus:- General test General intelligence General awareness Numerical ability Interview Topics:- Language comprehension Ability test English language |

Crime Branch CID (CB-CID) is a special wing in the CID headed by the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and assisted by the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Ranks/ Positions The head of the CID in police forces is Additional Director General of Police (ADGP). Ranks for CIDs Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Inspector general of police (IGP) DIG SP DSP Inspector Superintendent Sub Inspector Asst. Sub Inspector Constable Eligibility There are many posts available for candidates in the CID. Their level of entry is determined by their qualification. The minimum qualification required for a candidate to join as a Assistant sub Inspector in the CID is a pass in class 12. If one aspires to join as a Sub Inspector, he/she should have cleared graduation. Recruitment There are two ways to enter into Criminal Investigation Department. One is direct from the state police force through promotion. For this first after graduation join police service then you will be posted/ transferred or promoted to CID wing as per your track record. Other option is to write Indian Civil Services examination that is held by the Union Public Service Commission. Remuneration Pay scale varies with ranks but one can get pay range between Rs.8000-24500 with other allowances. |
