To get admission in Chartered Accountancy course offered by The Institute of Chartered Accountants you have to passed CPT entrance examination. Here I am giving you important dates to apply for CPT entrance examination

Important dates :
The Exam Form for Common Proficiency Test Dec 2014 Attempt would be available from 7th October 2014 (10:00 AM) onwards
the last date of submission of the same is 28th Oct 2014 (05:30 PM).
Common Proficiency Test (Paper- Pencil Mode) will be held on 14th December 2014 Sunday

Qualification for CPT ;
You must have +2 (or) are equivalent to +2 course with any stream.
And no percentage is required for this course.

CA CPT age limit :
There is no maximum age limit for to write the CA CPT test..

There are 3 levels in CA
Foundation
Intermediate
Final

(v) Accounting as a measurement discipline – valuation principles, accounting estimates

2. Accounting Process
Books of Accounts leading to the preparation of Trial Balance, Capital and revenue expenditures,
Capital and revenue receipts, Contingent assets and contingent liabilities, Fundamental errors
including rectifications thereof.

3. Bank Reconciliation Statement
4. Inventories
Basis of inventory valuation and record keeping.

5. Depreciation accounting
Methods, computation and accounting treatment of depreciation, Change in depreciation
methods.
6. Preparation of Final Accounts for Sole Proprietors
7. Accounting for Special Transactions
(a) Consignments
(b) Joint Ventures
(c) Bills of exchange and promissory notes
(d) Sale of goods on approval or return basis.

Common Proficiency Test is held twice in the month of June and December.
The CPT Exam is the entry level course like all other Entrance Exams of Other Professional Organisations..

Important Dates for CA CPT June, 2014 Examination:
i) Commencement of Online filling of CPT Exam Form: 4th April, 2014 (10.00 hrs.)
ii) Last date for acceptance of application forms: 25th April, 2014 (17.30 hrs)
iii) Date of declaration of result: Around one month from the date of examination
Thus, you have to create your account on or before 25th April, 2014 upto 5.30 P.M. (IST) for filling of CPT Examination application form Online.

Eligibility:
Students must have qualified Class XII Exams.

Exam pattern:
This test is of 200 marks.
Subjects to be studied in CPT are as follows:
Fundamentals of Accounting
Mercantile Laws
Quantitative Aptitude
General Economics
This test is divided into two sessions of two hours
CPT exam comprises of 4 Multiple Choice Papers.
There is negative marking for every wrong answer.

CPT stands for the Common Proficiency Test. CPT Exams are conducted in the month of June and December in paper pencil mode. On-line CPT exams are also conducted periodically.

Date:
ICAI has announced the next Common Proficiency Test. Attempt is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 14th December 2014.

Paper pattern:
The CPT Exam December 2014 Attempt will consist of 4 Papers which will be scheduled in 2 Sessions of 2 Papers at the following
Timings

First Session (10:30 AM to 12:30 PM)
( Two Sections – Two hours – 100 marks )
