CPS stands for Chicago Public Schools. It is the third largest school district in the United States with more than 600 schools. Their vision is that “every student in every neighborhood will be engaged in a rigorous, well-rounded instructional program and will graduate prepared for success in college, career and life.”

Application information:
Here for your help I am giving you the overview of the application, selection, and notification process for Selective Enrollment High Schools:

Parents of interested students have to submit a Selective Enrollment High Schools/Military Academies application to the Office of Access and Enrollment during the designated application period.

Parents can submit an application in one of two ways:
Online
Via paper application

All eligible students have to given a test.

Students must pre-qualify for testing, based on their NWEA MAP scores.

Selection will be based on a final point score and in accordance with the tier system outlined in the magnet and selective enrollment schools admissions policy.

Notification letters are sent to parents by the Office of Access and Enrollment in February 2015.

Confirmation forms to accept or decline an offer are sent by parents to the Office of Access and Enrollment.
