Re: Course after B.A Political Science

I find you should go for a Master Degree course in Political Science only as there are ample job opportunities for such pass out in Government jobs. You need to clear the Entrance exams to get into the Government jobs sector.

Administrative Services:
The most obvious career path Political Science students consider is in the government itself at the Central and State government levels. At the Central level it includes lAS, IPS, IFS and allied services. The Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Service Exams each year for recruiting people for the top jobs.

The state administrative jobs include BDO, Tehsildar and such many other important positions. For getting jobs at the state level one need to qualify the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) exams conducted by the State Public Service.

Teaching:
Teaching is another popular profession for Political Science students. About 75% of Political Science degree holders are employed by the educational institutions in the country since most of them teach Political Science as a subject.

If you want to become a Political Science/Social Science teacher one need a Graduation degree in Political Science with B.Ed.

For Lectureship at the college and University levels there is a need of Master degree in Political Science (55% marks) with eligibility for lectureship (NET Examination) conducted by the University Grants Commission twice a year.
