To become a Company Secretary, the candidate needs to pass three stages - the Foundation, Executive, and Professional Programmes that are conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)

Course: Company Secretary (CS)
Eligibility: Class 12/ Graduation
Institute & Professional Council: Institute Minimum duration: 2 1/2 years (after graduation), 3 1/2 years (after Class 12)
Exams: Conducted in June and December every year for all three levels

Fees:Rs 25,000 (including registration, examination and computer training)

Foundation Programme

Eligibility - Class 12 pass
Mini duration - 8 months
Max duration - Needs to be completed within 3 years of registration

2. Economics and Statistics
3. Financial Accounting
4. Elements of Business Law and Management

Executive Programme

Eligibility - Clear Foundation Programme/ Graduates from all disciplines except Fine Arts can directly enrol
Mini duration - 1 year
Max duration -Needs to be completed within 5 years of registration for the Executive Programme

Professional Programme
