Re: Common Aptitude Test Rules

Common Admission Test (CAT) is national-level management entrance examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM).

CAT scores are used for admission to various management courses across the country.

CAT rules details:

CAT 2015 will be held on a single day (November 29) in two-sessions.
Quant will not dominate the percentile rank in CAT, thus opening up the playing field for non-engineering students.

CAT exam and CAT scores will not be skewed towards a particular set of candidates from a particular background.

CAT test pattern has changed. Candidates need to attempt 100 questions in 180 minutes. Direct answer questions, in which candidates need to type directly on screen, has been introduced. On-screen calculators will also be available this year.

Authorities will try to accommodate the female candidates in centres near city areas to reduce long travel.

The number of cities where CAT has been increased to 136 this year (650 test centres).

CAT New Pattern: The CAT will be divided into three sections:

Quantitative Aptitude (QA) having 34 questions
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) with 32 questions
Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC) with 34 questions
