About the CAT :

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all-India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for admission to the Post-graduate and Fellow Programs in management courses of several management institutes all over India including the IIMs.

Required Qualification

The candidate must hold a Bachelors Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons With Disability (PWD) categories], awarded by any University or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of the Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Reservation Criteria
5% of seats are kept reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC);
7.5% of seats are kept reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST);
27% of seats are kept reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC);
3% of seats are kept reserved for Persons with Disability (PWD). The categories of disability includ:
a) low vision blindness,
b) hearing impairment,
c) loco motor disability/cerebral palsy.
Any candidate who wishes to apply for this category will be eligible if only he/she suffers from any listed disabilities to the extent of less than 40%, as certified by a medical authority.

Application fees :
Register online at the CAT website with a registration fee of Rs. 1700 (General/NC-OBC) and Rs. 850 (SC/ST/PWD-DA).
