UPSC conducts Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS Exam) for recruiting candidates for course conducted by Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers training Academy

Important Dates 2018

Date of Notification: 18th August 2018
Last Date for Receipt of Applications: 03rd September 2018
Date of Commencement of Exam: 18th November 2018 (Sunday)
Duration of Exam: 01 Day

UPSC CDS (2) 2018 Vacancies Details


A Combined Defence Services Exam will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 18th November 2018 for admission to the under mentioned courses:

Total No. of Posts: 414 (Approx.)

Name of the Post: Combined Defence Service Examination (2), 2018 (Including SSC Women (Non-Technical Course)
i) Indian Military Academy, Dehradun - 147th (DE) Course commencing in July 2019 [including 13 vacancies reserved for NCC 'C' Certificate (Army Wing) holders] - 100 vacancies (approx.)
ii) Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala - Course commencing in July 2019 Executive (General Service) (including 06 vacancies reserved for NCC 'C' Certificate holders (Naval Wing) - 45 vacancies (approx.)
iii) Air Force Academy, Hyderabad - (Pre-Flying) Training Course commencing in February 2019 i.e. No. 206 F (P) Course - 32 vacancies (approx)
iv) Officers Training Academy, Chennai - 110th SSC (Men) (NT) Course communing in April 2019 (Tentative) - 255 vacancies (including 50 vacancies for NCC C) (approx)
v) Officers Training Academy, Chennai-24th SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course commencing April 2019 - 12 vacancies (Tentative)

Selection Procedure
One will be provided admission to INA, IMA, Air Force Academy, and Officers Training Academy through Written Examination, Personality Test and Interview
One will be placed in the order of merit on the basis of the total marks secured by them in the written examination and in the SSB tests.
The final selection will be made in order of merit subject to medical fitness and suitability in all other respects and number of vacancies available
