The Department of Biostatistics at Christian Medical College was established in 1964 which was its kind first in the Country.

It is involved in data management, statistical analysis, report writing and training in collaboration with several departments of the institution and pharmaceutical companies

Biostatistics is the application of statistics to biology, medicine, public health and drug development. The subject is concerned with the design of experiments and surveys, the storing and organization of the data collected and their analysis and interpretation.
