Calicut University Management Aptitude Test CUMAT is conducted by the University of Calicut for providing admission to MBA program. CUMAT Eligibility Criteria Any degree of the University of Calicut or that of any other University or Institute or Institution recognized by the UGC or AICTE. Programs of other Universities or Institutions shall be in 10+2+3 pattern (or 10+2+4) under regular stream. Student should not have less than 50% marks in aggregate, including the marks of the languages, if any. OBC and SC/ST students are allowed relaxation in marks as per rules (i.e.5% relaxation for OBC & Other Eligible Communities and a mere pass for SC/ST). CUMAT Exam Pattern CUMAT Exam consists of objective multiple choice type of questions. There will be total 120 objective question, Total time duration is 2 hours, and there is no negative marking. Verbal Ability Reading Comprehension Quantitative Aptitude Logical/Abstract Reasoning The rank score shall be arrived at as follows: Entrance test score out of 120 Plus Two / PDC marks out of 30 Group discussion out of 25 Personal Interview out of 25 Total out of 200 The minimum required test score is 30 % of weightage given to entrance test (120) for general category candidates and 20% for SC/ST candidates CUMAT Exam Syllabus CUMAT Exam will consist of 120 questions from the following subjects/topics. i. General Awareness Characteristics of the Indian economy, basic economic indicators, industrial, trade, fiscal, budgetary and monetary policies, Indian banking system and its functioning, awareness about corporate sector, Indian and international trade, economic agreements, changes in political, technological and cultural environments. ii. Numerical ability and Data interpretation Elementary Arithmetic - percentage, ratio, proportion time and distance, relative speed, time and work, interest, stocks, shares and discount, rules of divisibility, HCF and LCM, power, exponents and roots; Elementary algebra - algebraic equations; Elementary geometry - angle, line, polygon, solids, cylinders, perimeter, volume, circles, tangent to circle, sphere, etc.; linear and quadratic equations; Basics of trigonometry and coordinate geometry. Sets - Union and intersection; frequency and class intervals, cumulative frequencies, and various types of graphic diagrams used in interpretation; Basic of probability; and Permutation and combination. iii. Comprehension and Comprehension at paragraph and sentence level, identification of mistakes; grammar and usage; Vocabulary -word formation, synonyms, antonyms, the pairing of words, analogies, sentence structure and construction, active and passive voice, prepositions, completion of sentences, etc. iv.
