As you want to get the details of Civil Services exam preliminary number of attempts so here it is for you: Nationality: A candidate must be either :— a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed 30 years Minimum Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed graduation from any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India Number of Attempts: General: 4 OBC: 7 SC and ST: No Limit Scheme of CS (Preliminary) Examination The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) carrying a maximum of 400 marks. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Conducted the Civil Services Preliminary Exam on August 23, this Year. The Exam was Segregated into Two Parts: Part I (General Studies) Paper II (CSAT/Aptitude Test). The Exam was held at 2,186 Venues in 71 Centres. Number of Attempts and Age Limit for Appearing in IAS Exam 2016 For General Category Candidates, the new age Limit is 32 years and the Number of Attempts is 06. For OBC Category candidates, the new age limit is 35 years and the number of Attempts is 09. For SC/SC Category candidates, the new age limit is 37 years while the number of attempts unlimited. For Physically Handicapped candidates, age limit is 42, 45 and 47 years for General, OBC and SC/ST category respectively while the number of attempts is 09 for General and OBC and unlimited for SC/SC category. The changes in the number of attempts and age limit will apply w.e.f. Civil Services Examination 2014. Certain categories of persons as specified in the Commission's Notice as published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar are eligible for age relaxation. IAS Exam 2016 Dates Notified by the UPSC : Date of Notification: 23 April 2016 Last Date to apply: 20 May 2016 Date of IAS Pre (CSAT) Exam : 7 August 206 Educational Qualification : Candidate must hold a Graduation Degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification. Age limit for IAS Prelims : A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2015. IAS Prelim Exam Pattern : Two papers – General Studies paper 1 General Studies paper 2 (informally called CSAT). Both will be of 200 marks. GS paper 1 will be taken into account to Generate the list of Candidates Qualified for Mains. In GS paper 2 (CSAT), a candidate need to score at least 33% marks. These marks will not be calculated in deciding the list of qualified candidate. |
