Re: Civil Competitive Exam Eligibility

No, you are not eligible to write civil service exams conducted by the UPSC or SSC.

Civil service exams like IAS, IES, IFS etc. are conducted for the recruitment of Graduate candidates in several Civil Services under the Central Government in different sections like administrative, engineering etc.

The eligibility criteria to apply for these exams are to have a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university.

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates can apply to a maximum of 6 times. The candidates belonging to OBC category can apply for a total of 9 times. The restriction on the number of attempts is applied in case of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates.

Civil Competitive Exam Eligibility Criteria
CANDIDATES SHOULD ENSURE THAT THEY SATISFY ALL THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE EXAMINATION.

The Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission into the examination. Their admission to all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Mere issue of admission certificate to the candidate will not imply that his / her candidature has been finally cleared by the Commission.
The Commission generally takes up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to the original documents only after the candidate has qualified for the Interview / Personality Test.
