I am studying in First Semester of B.Tech Program at IIT Kanpur. I want information about the Cisco Company as a recruiter for engineering students. Computer Centre (CC) caters to the computational and IT related needs of the academic as well as residential community at IIT Kanpur.

Please follow the following steps to use Cisco IronPort Proxy Servers: .

1. Set one of the proxy servers (ironport1.iitk.ac.in or ironport2.iitk.ac.in) with port 3128, in your browser.

2. When you browse, you will be prompted for secure authentication by Cisco IronPort Web Security Appliance.

Although the SSL Certificate has been installed in the IronPort appliance, but in some browsers, you may be get a certificate error prompt.

In this case, please install the following CA Certificates in your browser:

IE 8 & IE 9, you need to install Thawte SSL CA in your browser.
For IE 6 or lower version, you need to install Thawte SSL CA and Primary Root CA in your browser.

For Google Chrome, you need to install the above mentioned certificate(s), depending on the IE version you are using.



To install the above certificates, you need to follow the following steps:

Download the certificate(s).
Click on the certificate(s).
Click on Install and follow the steps by pressing Next.

Institute Local Area Network covering academic area, residential area and students’ hostels.
Email facility to over 8000 users.
Computer Labs.
Various software for specialized research and general use by the campus
