The State Government appointed CIDCO the Special Planning Authority for the Vasai-Virar region in 1990.

CIDCO Project Progress

Agreeing in principle to share the cost of aerial survey of the region with National Remote Sensing Agency
(NRSA), Hyderabad

Starting the process of undertaking a survey of all the developed area

Declaring its intention to prepare the development plans of the Vasai-Virar region, as required, under the MR & TP Act, 1966

Taking up the grant of development permissions for the urbanizable area referred to in the interim order in High Court


Past work

From this project CIDCO has till 31/12/2007 received Rs 39175.59 lakhs under various heads. The major ones being Interest free loan from the State Govt. (Rs 400 lakhs), Development Charges (Rs 9962.36 lakhs), water source development charges(Rs 254.56 lakhs), Fire Cess (Rs 293.06 lakhs) and Miscellaneous receipts ( Rs 14939.34 lakhs) inclusive of scrutiny fees, security deposits, premium, unauthorised occupancy charges, compounding charges, environment cess etc.
