C.I.D stands for Criminal Investigation Department. The exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission and candidates are selected on the basis of CGL exam. Education: The applicant must have completed Graduation in any discipline from recognized college or university. Final year students can also apply for the exam. There is no percentage criteria. Age For General Category: 20 years to 27 year OBC Category: 20 years to 30 years SC/ST category:20 years to 32 years. Steps to select: Written test Physical TEST Personal interview Exam Pattern:- Tier 1 Duration 2 Hours MARKS General Intelligence+Reasoning 50 General Awareness 50 Numerical Aptitute 50 English Comprehension 50 TOTAL 200 TIER 2 Duration 4 Hours Arithmetical abilities (100 question, 2 hours) 200 English Language and Comprehension (200 question,2 hours) 200 TOTAL 400 |

The Criminal Investigation Department is a crime detection agency under the Government of India. It was established on the 1st of April 1906. Officers who work in this elite agency are known as Detectives or as CID officers. The agency also has some other divisions. Eligibility criteria to join CID The applicant must be Citizen of India The applicant can join CID after 12th or after completion graduation. After 12th, you are eligible for constable post in CID & after graduation; you are eligible for Sub Inspector post considered as CID officer. The age criteria is 20 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years with relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC. Physical requirement: Must be minimum of 152 cms for women Weight is correlated accordingly There is no such physical limits to become a CID officer. Selection Procedure Written Exam Personal Interview.
