Re: Choose either MBA or PGDM

Hii buddy you want to know the difference between MBA or PGDM , both
the courses have same value but for your reference here I am providing the difference between MBA or PGDM.I hope it help to you take good decision for your career.

MBA V/s PGDM:

They both courses are post graduate level , PGDM is basically depend upon practical learning and also having a value comparable to MBA but MBA is primarily focuses on theoretical learning .

In public sectors there is vast demand for MBA in different fields.

College which is offering MBA courses needs to be accredited by UGC.

College which is offering PGDM courses require to be approved by AICTE.

Differences between MBA & PGDM:-

The biggest difference between MBA and PGDM is that MBA is a degree programme, but PGDM is a diploma programme.

A lot of students are of the opinion that doing a PGDM course will not enable them to study further, especially in international universities that do not recognise diplomas. You will need to check for the credits that you may be eligible for, in case you want to go overseas for further education.

An institute that is affiliated to a university can offer a MBA programme, while institutes that are not affiliated with any university offer the PGDM course to students.
As far as the courses that are affiliated with the universities are concerned, the syllabus is provided by the universities. For non-affiliated courses, the syllabus is created to suit industry requirements.

The value of the degree or diploma will greatly vary, depending on your performance and the specialisation that you have opted for. It is a myth that the MBA is more valuable than PGDM.

Types of Specialization which is offers in MBA & PGDM:

Telecom Management
Hospital Management
Corporate & Business Law
Travel & Tourism Management
BFSI
Finance
Human Resource
Insurance
Mass Media
Pharmaceutical Business Management
Marketing
Digital Business Management
