Re: Central Bank of India Demand Draft Number A DD or Demand Draft is a negotiable instrument similar to a bill of exchange. A bank issues a demand draft to a client (drawer), directing another bank (drawee) or one of its own branches to pay a certain sum to the specified party (payee) DD (Demand Draft) is the way of transferring money. In this method, one can transfer money from one bank account to another bank. Demand Draft is valid for 6 months after its generated. DD's are acceptable only if the amount is less than 50,000. CBI DD Charges Issue of DD 1. Upto Rs.10000 Rs.30/- per DD 2. Above Rs.10001 uptoRs. 100000 Rs.4/- per thousand or part thereof Min Rs 40/- 3. Above Rs. 100001 Rs3.50/- per thousand or part thereof Min. Rs.400/- and Max. Rs.12000/- + 25% for cash handling charges.
