CDS Exam SSB Interview

I have already given the CDS (Combined Defence Services) examination and selected for the CDS Exam SSB Interview want details about interview process. Will you please provide me Interview procedure of CDS along with the important dates so that I can prepare accordingly?

CDS (Combined Defence Services) examination is of the most popular exam among the Indian defence aspirants, CDS exam is conducted by UPSC two times every year.

There are basically four different training academies which one can join through CDS exam.

Indian Military Academy for Indian Army (Only Men)
Indian Air Force Academy for Indian Air Force (Only Men)
Naval Academy for Indian Navy (Only Men)
Officers Training Academy (Men and Women)

Interview procedure of CDS:

The interview is a five-six day process, five days for OTA, IMA and NA and six days for AFA. This interview commonly known as SSB has different types of tests to judge a person’s personality.

The first day in SSB is the Screening day.

Psychological Tests: This is a battery of four continuous tests which continue for about 2 hour without any break.

They are conducted in a span of two days. They are:

Group Discussion
Group Planning Exercise (Military Planning Exercise)
Progressive Group task
Group Obstacle Race (Snake race)
Half Group Task
Lecturette
Individual Obstacles
Command Task
Final Group Task

Interview:

A personal Interview is conducted which is taken by a senior officer or the president of the board.

In this exercise, the candidate is in direct conversation with the Interviewing Officer and the Interview is conducted for 35-40 minutes.

Conference: This is like the conclusion of the SSB Stay of a candidate. This is the Final day generally (Except for AFA Candidates)

Notification will be released- 16.07.2016
Last date to apply- 12.08.2016 (FRIDAY)
Date of the examination – 23.10.2016 (SUNDAY)
