Can you tell me what Qualification is required to become a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) Officer?

CBI means Central Bureau of Investigation. To apply for the officer level posts in Central Bureau of investigation one need to apply for the SSC Combined Graduate Level exams

Eligibility Criteria
Education: Graduation pass in any stream
No Minimum Percentage is required in Graduation

Age criteria :-

(i) Assistant Grade & Sub Inspectors in CBI –
Age between 20 - 27 years.
(ii) Inspectors of CE / IT & Divisional Accountants/Auditors/ UDCs –
Age between 18 - 27 years.
(iii) Sub Inspectors in Central Police Forces –
Age between 20 and 25 years

Physical Standard



Eye-Sight (with or without glasses)
Distant Vision: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in other eye.
NearVision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye

CBI-CGPE Examination Pattern:

Question paper is of objective types and questions are related to-

-General Intelligence Reasoning
-General Awareness
-Numerical Aptitude
-English Comprehension



Scheme of Examination

The Examination is conducted in three tiers as indicated below:

Tier -I -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -II -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -III -- Personality Test cum Interview/Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification & Descriptive/on-line test of qualifying nature.

Eligibility:

Nationality:
Candidate should be an Indian Citizen.

Qualification:
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree course in any stream from recognized university.

Age Limit:
Minimum age is 20 years.
Maximum age is 27 years.

Age Relaxation:
5 years for SC/ST candidates.
3 years for OBC candidates.

Both Male & Female candidates are eligible to become an CBI Officer.

Physical Requirements:

Height:
165 cms for men

150cms for women

The Exam conducted in 3 Stages.

1) Preliminary Exam
2) Main Exam
3) Personality Test

Preliminary Exam (Tire I):

This Exam Consists Of 4 Papers Which Are As Follows.
General Intelligence & Reasoning
General Awareness
Numerical Aptitude
English Comprehension

Main Exam Tire (II):
The test will be conducted on following topics.
Arithmetical Ability
English Language & Comprehension
Statistics

Interview Tire (III):
Candidates have to pass preliminary & main exam to attain the interview.
