Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the top most investigation agency in India. CBI investigates the top and big cases in the country. For getting into that you need to write the exam which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

Exam Pattern & Syllabus:
The exam pattern is as follows.
1.Preliminary Examination.
2.Main Examination.

Preliminary Examination:
The exam consists of two papers.
Paper 1 consists of General Awareness and General Intelligence.
Duration of the exam is 2 hours.
It consists of 100 questions and for 100 marks.
Paper 2 consits of 100 questions for 100 marks.
All the questions are on Arithmetic only.
Even the duration of this paper is 2 hours.

In the Main Examination there are two stages:
Written Examination
Personality Test.
The syllabus for the written examination is given below:
General studies-100m
Arithmetic-200m
English-100m
Language-100m
Communication Skills And Writing-100m
In the Personality test,they will test the personality and Mental ability of the candidates.

Eligibility Criteria:
5 years for SC/ST students
3 years for OBC students
Age of the students must be atleast 21 years.
The maximum age allowed for the students is 27 years.
Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
The minimum eligibility to apply for exam is to pass graduation degree with at least 50% marks from a recognized university in following courses:
Law - LLB and LLM
Diploma in Legal Science and Criminology
Criminal and Correctional Administration
M.Sc in Criminology
Forensic Science
Diploma in Criminology and Criminal Administration
Diploma in Criminology

Part I & II General Awareness
Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society.
The Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person.
Questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
